A Brief History of Sheikh Hamdan Senior Secondary School
Sheikh Hamdan Senior Secondary School for Girls (SHSSSG) was established in 1999 by Munazamat Al-Dawa Al-Islamia Mission. The project was funded by Al Maktoum Charity Foundation in Dubai.
During the 2000/2001 academic year, 200 students were enrolled. Basically there were 6 classrooms, 2 science laboratories, a home science facility and a well-equipped administrative block.
Presently, over 400 girls attend the school and take the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) with 8 or 9 subjects in the areas of SCIENCE, COMMERCE and ARTS.
Performance of students in the above examination has improved tremendously in recent years.
